¡Hola traveler! My name is Flavia and I’m the bilingual content creator behind Latina Traveller.
I’m a First Generation Peruvian American born in the United States to two Peruvian immigrant parents and currently residing in Barcelona, Spain. I moved to Barcelona to finish a master’s program and loved it, so I decided to stay. More info about this will be in a blog post, but in the meantime you can check out the info I share on Instagram!
Travel has always been a huge part of my life. I was first introduced to it when I was just a month old on a flight from Newark, New Jersey to Lima, Peru. Growing up, I spent the majority of my summers in Peru with my younger sister. These trips along with my dad’s persistence led to my high level of fluency in both English and Spanish, something that I’ll forever be grateful for. My family always traveled to other states and eventually other countries which only grew my curiosity of other cultures and places. That’s why when I was 15 and 16, I decided to trade in the usual Quinceañera and Sweet Sixteens parties for trips to Europe and China. Instead of two parties that lasted a night each, I got two trips that together lasted over 5 weeks!
By this time the travel bug had hit me hard and I knew this was something I’d be doing long term. I wanted to incorporate it in my professional life that I even found jobs that paid me to travel. So far I’ve been to over 30 countries and 32 US states with no plans of stopping anytime soon. Solo female travel is my main focus and what my content tends to revolve around.
I hope you’ll follow my journey of travels around the world and while I continue my process of immigrating from the US to Spain! Find tips, inspiration & resources on my blog.
