About Me

Flavia Cornejo

¡Hola! My name is Flavia and I’m the bilingual content creator and blogger behind Latina Traveler.

I’m a First Generation Peruvian American born in the United States to two Peruvian parents, but currently living in Portugal. Over the years I’ve visited over 37 countries and have lived in 8. To learn more about me, you can go here.

Travel has always been a huge part of my life. It was first introduced to me when I was just a month old on a flight from New Jersey to Peru. Growing up, I spent the majority of my summers in Peru with my younger sister. These trips along with my dad’s persistence led to my high level of fluency in both English and Spanish, something that I’ll forever be grateful for.

My family always traveled to other states and eventually other countries which only grew my curiosity of other cultures and places. That’s why when I was 15 and 16, I decided to trade in the usual Quinceañera and Sweet Sixteen parties for trips to Europe and China. Instead of two parties that lasted a night each, I got two trips that together lasted over 5 weeks!

By this time the travel bug had hit me hard and I knew this was something I’d be doing long term. I wanted to incorporate it in my professional life that I even found jobs that paid me to travel. So far I’ve been to over 37 countries and 32 US states with no plans of stopping anytime soon.

Solo female travel is my main focus and showing the world that Latinas travel. If you’re feeling inspired by my travels, follow my journey as I continue to explore more of what this world has to offer! Find tips, inspiration & resources on my blog.
