Day 1: Old Delhi

Today is arrival day and I know you are going to be excited to start exploring this beautiful country! Don’t be overwhelmed by the smells, sights, and sounds because there will be a lot. We’ll start with an afternoon tour so be sure to choose a flight that lands by latest 11am to make it on time.

Our tour of Old Delhi will consist of:

  • – Jama Masjid (an Islamic Mosque)
  • – A rickshaw ride in the Chandani chowk Market

Day 2: New Delhi

Today we have a full day to explore New Delhi! There is so much to explore here so we’re going to have a full day taking it all in.

Be prepared for lots of sights, sounds, and smells, because India has lots of these and it can feel overwhelming at first.

Some of the sights we’ll be seeing today:

  • Ugrasen ki Baoli
  • India Gate and Parliamentary buildings
  • Humayun’s tomb UNESCO site
  • Khan Market
  • Lodhi Garden
  • Gurudwara Bangla Sahib

To prepare for our upcoming Taj Mahal visit, we’ll be going to a sari shop to get our own customized one to wear! This does have an additional cost but you’ll get something unique to wear and to take home. I’m excited about this because I’ve always wanted my very own sari and I’m already thinking about what color and design I want.

Day 3: Agra

Today we head to the city where the Taj Mahal is, Agra! Before heading out we’ll have a nice filling breakfast. It’s a bit of a drive so have your neck pillow on hand.

Our first stop after arriving will be the Agra Fort, which has been around since the 1500s. Many dynasties have been the owner of this fort over the years.

After lunch we’ll head to a cooperative where local women work at a carpet factory. They’ll tell us about the process and we can buy carpets if we’d like!

From here we’ll head to the Sheros Cafe, a place created to aid acid victim survivors in India. You can support these victims by getting henna done here. It will also go lovely with your saree at the Taj Mahal tomorrow.

We have an early morning tomorrow so we’ll get some rest early. PS our hotel has a slight view of the Taj Mahal so head to the rooftop to get a sneak peak!

Day 4: Taj Mahal

Today is the day ladies, put on your sarees and make sure you have enough phone storage because we are heading to a New World Wonder, the Taj Mahal at sunrise!

This is the moment we’ve been waiting for so even with the early wake up call (5am 🤭) it will be SO worth it. We’ll even have a private photoshoot where each of us will get up to 10 photos.

Our guide will tell us about the history of this magnificent building and we’ll get more pictures and videos than our phones can handle.

After our visit, we’ll head back to our hotel to grab our things and check out because we are heading to a new city!

But before we start on our way, we’ll have a workshop by Taj descendants to learn how the Taj Mahal was built.

Enjoy the scenery as we head to Jaipur, India’s pink city!

Day 5: India’s Pink City

Today is a full day exploring Jaipur, India’s pink city. We’ll see forts and buildings that have so much history and beauty.

Aside from visiting the city’s must-see spots and getting gorgeous photos, we’ll also take a visit to the pink city market to get some souvenirs and see how the locals shop.

Day 6: Jaipur

After breakfast, we are heading to a Bollywood dance class! This style of music combines classical forms of dance including traditional Indian, folk, salsa, belly-dance while also incorporating more contemporary western forms such as hip hop, jazz and funk.

Since there are no set rules, Bollywood dancing encourages freedom of expression and really lets you let loose!

After getting our dance on, we’ll make our way back to New Delhi for our upcoming Holi festivities!

Day 7: Holi Celebration

Today is all about COLOR! 🎨

We will be having our Holi festivities today. Holi is an Hindu festival that celebrates spring, love, and new beginnings. Everyone throws color at each other so expect to have colored powder everywhere.

Expect to have fun, but wear something you’re okay with getting color all over ideally white but know something that you plan to use for only this.

Today is our last day so we’ll have a special final dinner together. Afterwards we can watch a Bollywood movie and pack for our flights tomorrow.

Day 8: Airport Day

It’s time to say goodbye to India, but only see you later to our new amigas as we head to the airport today! It’s been a week of getting to know each other and exploring a new country together. The memories will bond us forever. I can’t wait to have more experiences with you in the future!
