Nashville is best known as the hometown of country music. Fans of this genre flock here for special events, listen to live music in honky-tonks and see all of the famous recording studios on Music Row. I’m not a country music fanatic by any means, but I did enjoy learning more about this genre.
Unique fact: the only replica of the Greek Parthenon lives in Nashville’s Centennial Park.
Although I wouldn’t call myself a country music fan, I definitely enjoyed my visit and found that it’s a great place for:
- people who love to have fun
- have unique experiences
- witness a mix of cultures and music genres

Nashville Activities
The Parthenon
I have yet to visit Greece so seeing a replica of the Parthenon in Nashville was unexpected but nice to see. Unlike the one in Greece, this one is complete and has as a museum inside. It’s free to walk around the grounds and take as many photos as you’d like.

Nashville Murals
This is a series of 5 murals on the south part of Nashville. There are cafes, restaurants and shops to enjoy while you stroll around the murals. It’s great to go on a sunny day and surprisingly not too busy. It is easier to arrive with a car but there is a bus that goes along 12th Ave from Downtown. Take a walking tour with a photoshoot and get the most of your time here!

Music Row
This is great for country music lovers. Great to add on while heading to the Nashville Murals or while going back downtown as it’s right along the way. I didn’t stop but I did enjoy seeing the various studios along the way. One of the most famous is the RCA studio where Dolly Parton and Elvis Presley recorded many of their hit songs. You can visit studios with a pre-booked tour.
Wings Mural
The What Lifts You Wings Mural is so beautiful and definitely worth the visit. Depending on when you go there may be a line, but you won’t regret it. Photo tip: make sure you check when the sun will be hitting the mural as the lighting can really affect the photos and will cause for more editing afterwards!
This was a spot I had been wanting to check out for years ever since I saw posts about it on Instagram. I’m glad I was finally able to see it in person myself! I’m sure you’ll love it when you see it too.

Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum
A must visit for country music lovers. I only passed by the outside but inside you’ll see many of your favorites and I’m sure you will learn about the history of country music and Nashville’s participation in this scene. You can purchase tickets here!
Tootsie’s World Famous Orchid Lounge
It is world famous for a reason. Located on Broadway, this purple 3 story building has enough drinks, music, and views to enjoy an afternoon. Getting an outdoor table may take a bit if it’s extra busy but in April it only took about 5. Inside is where you can listen to live music and dance the night away.

Bootleggers Inn
Also located on Broadway more towards the river, is this small little bar. You can also expect live music and lots of moonshine! I got the mango jalapeño moonshine and it was delicious. We sat at the bar but there’s tables too. If you go for the vibes on the weekend, don’t get there too late cause the limited seating will fill up.
Peg Leg Porker BBQ
Walking distance from the What Lifts You Mural, this spot is great for all things barbecue. There’s limited outside seating but loads of tables inside. Choose from pulled pork, ribs, fried pies, buckets of beer, and more. I got the ribs while my sister got the pulled pork sandwich so we shared.
Sri Ganesha Temple
You’ll need a car for this one as it is 15 min drive away from downtown. Better to go early to see it in the day time and go inside or when there’s an event being held.
Warner Parks
Also a bit outside the city but great if you’re looking to escape the bustle and get lost in nature. There’s countless trails as well as some view points. A great place to go during sunset to take in the skyline from above.
Printer’s Alley
This is the go-to spot for nightlife. The alley looks a bit dodgy and I only went during the daytime, but you’ll find loads of bars and clubs. Get ready to dance or drink the night away here!
Helicopter Ride
Fly above Nashville with a helicopter ride and take in the top landmarks and the streets of Music City. You can choose between two different options depending on what you prefer to see from above. If you go for the VIP option, it comes with champagne so you can fly in style! Book your ride today.
