Slovenia is a beautiful country but even a few months ago it wasn’t high on my radar. After visiting, I wish I had done so sooner. There’s so much nature, adrenaline activities, beautiful locations, and kind people. Most people visit Bled, as they should, but there’s so much more to see! We’ll go over the different cities you should visit in Slovenia.

Slovenia Cities

Ljubljana

Slovenia’s capital, Ljubljana, is a beautiful riverside city with a castle. It’s small, but I’d still recommend at least two full days to take it slow and really get a feel for the city. I’ve written a post with all the things to do when visiting Ljubljana.

Bled

Bled is really the star of Slovenia and is one of the mainly visited tourist spots. Its iconic lake with its island are the backdrop to many photos and definitely a spot on my list. You’ll definitely want to walk around as much as possible to take in all the views.

Bovec

When I say my mouth dropped as I approached Bovec, I am not kidding. The whole area leading up to it was so beautiful with mountains and the clear river along parts of the drive. The views once in the city were also so pretty that I knew visiting this city was the right move.

Koper

Koper is the main city along the coast and has lots of narrow streets with shops and restaurants. There are historical sights to visit and a large port so you’ll see lots of large boats. There are beaches you can spend time at and easily get to Trieste in Italy. It’s a perfect place for a quick visit.

Piran

Located right on the Slovenian Riviera near the border of Croatia is the beautiful little seaside city of Piran. This city is full of little streets that are mainly accessible by foot and not car. You’ll be able to wander all around the inside of the city walls and watch the sunset along the water.
